About Rolfing Structural Integration

Rolfing® was developed by Ida P. Rolf, PhD over 50 years ago. The purpose: to balance and realign the body in gravity. Rolfing approaches the body as a whole with the a goal of having the client experience living with the sensation of all parts working easily as one- Structural Integration.
Rolfers work using touch and subtle guided movements to contact your body’s connective tissue and positively effect muscles, joints, tendons, ligaments, bones and organs to bring your body to its natural alignment.
Typically Rolfing is a process consisting of Ten Sessions. The sessions approach the person from the outside in addressing binding patterns in tissue layer by layer, thus effecting our abilities to sit tall, walk well, move efficiently, work and play well and be vital.Usually after 1-3 sessions clients have a good sense of how and why Rolfing is good for them.
Sessions are 60-75 minutes. They consist of brief analysis, hands on manipulation and subtle movement integration guidance.Rolfing is traditionally offered as a series of 10 sessions, held 1-3 weeks apart.
